If you are like me, you are feeling increasingly pressured into taking actions that are guided not by good judgment, but by the threat of bad judgments that can bludgeon any well-meaning citizen into pulp. This TED talk by Philip K. Howard offers many thoughts and ideas for contemplation.
This problem is not confined to the USA, or even the West. It is a global phenomenon that is, as Howard suggests, driven by the lowest common denominator.
In striving for utopia by legal means, we increasingly grasp dystopia from its jaws.
